AbstractThe economic relevance of sugarcane crop to provide raw material to produce alcohol as an energy alternative has grown much. Therefore, precise information on sugarcane production is important to adequately meet the growing demands of alcohol. The present work has the objective to estimate sugarcane yield in the Catanduva Plant using quantitative and qualitative variables in a combining Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) model or ensembles. One of the quantitative variables of this model was estimated through an agronomic-spectral model. This model uses several meteorological and agronomic variables being one of them the leaf area index (LAI) whose values were estimated for each sugarcane field, from the MODIS NDVI images acquired during the period of intense crop growth.
